POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Position Type: Full-time, On Site
- Location: 812 Burton Road in Vars
- Compensation Starting at: $27.65/hour
- Security Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of our work, all employees must be able to obtain a clearance with the Government of Canada. For this position, you will be required to obtain a Level 2 - Secret clearance which requires a minimum of 10 years residency in Canada.
The Material Handler/Shipper & Receiver is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all materials are correctly packed, inventoried, and organized within the warehouse. This role plays a key part in maintaining the flow of project materials and inventory through careful management of packing, labeling, and stocking activities, adhering to quality and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain a Level 2 (Secret) Government of Canada Security Clearance (This requires a minimum of 10 years residency in Canada).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- Proven experience as a material handler, shipper/receiver or other warehouse position.
- Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallets jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Mathematically inclined.
- Good physical strength and stamina.
- Driver's license with clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Previous experience using hand & power tools.
- Previous experience operating an inventory management system.
- Previous experience with Excel, SharePoint & QuickBooks.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Basic carpentry or crate-building skills.
- Familiarity with QC procedures and documentation.
- Experience with 5S or lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience working under ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build a variety of skids & crates for inventory/projects
- Pack, seal and label project materials to prepare for shipping
- Commence inventory counts, weekly, bi-weekly & monthly
- Follow shipping & receiving QC documents and submit to shipping Team Lead
- Re-stock inventory manually or with warehouse equipment (forklift & pallet jacks)
- Stock incoming project orders in project related bins
- Order pick inventory &project related material for production departments
- Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
- Maintain shipping and receiving area by ensuring a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Maintain inventory area cleanliness & organization
- Pre-assemble inventoried goods
- Help in other departments as required
